Lismore AFC Junior Team competes in the Waterford & District League in the 2B division. As the clubs senior side, the team competes with pride, determination and a strong connection to the local community. Featuring a blend of experienced players and young talent, the squad aims to represent Lismore AFC to the highest standard on and off the pitch.

Lismore travelled the long distance to Piltown for our first league match after the break, once again short on numbers.
The club would like to thank everyone who turned up and made the numbers once again. With a bare 11 available, we knew we would be up against it, and the aim was to take our time, look after the ball and stay in the game.
However, Piltown had other ideas. They took the lead through a deflected free-kick before doubling their advantage with a fine header.
Lismore’s best chance of the first half fell to frontman Oisin Aldred, whose low effort from the edge of the box was well saved and pushed onto the woodwork.
The second half proved a real struggle as fatigue began to set in. With no substitutes available and injuries eventually reducing Lismore to 10 men, the effort from everyone involved simply cannot be questioned.
Despite conceding two more, Lismore continued to battle. Oisin Aldred pulled one back with a well-deserved goal after fine work from debutant Oisin Coffey, giving Lismore a glimmer of hope.
Despite the tremendous effort, a late penalty sealed all three points for Piltown.
A disappointing result, but a highly commendable effort from everyone involved. Playing with a bare 11, and finishing the game with 10, showed the character and commitment within the squad.
Our attention now turns to the next league game, as we return home to face Stradbally on 30th August.
