Founded 1955- Over 70 years of Football 

Our Story 

Founded in 1955, Lismore AFC has been a proud part of the local community for over 70 years, providing football opportunities for generations of players from Lismore and the surrounding areas. The club played a key role in the formation of the West Waterford East Cork League and celebrated an historic achievement by winning the league's inaugural title in 1972. In its early years, Lismore AFC earned a reputation as true cup specialists, lifting the Dungarvan Tyre Centre Cup on four consecutive occasions. In 2005, the club wrote another chapter in its history by becoming the first team to complete a West Waterford East Cork League season unbeaten, before adding another league title in 2018/19 

In total Lismore have won Premier 5 times 1971/72, 1995/96, 2002/03, 2004/05, 2018/19, the first division twice, 1988/89 & 2011/12. While Lismore B team won the 2nd division in 2005/06

Off the pitch, Lismore AFC has always been about more than football. For the past 13 years, the club has proudly organised its annual St Stephen's Day Charity Match, bringing together players, supporters and the wider community while raising valuable funds for local charities and worthy causes. 

Today, Lismore AFC is entering an exciting new chapter. Through continued investment in youth development, improved communication, stronger community engagement and the support of our volunteers, sponsors and members, the club remains committed to creating a welcoming environment where players of all ages can enjoy football for many years to come.

1982 

The winners of the first Dungravan Tyre Centre Cup, winning 2-0 against Youghal in Tallow. Lismore would go on to win the cup 4 years in a row, earning the reputation of cup specialists 

1985

1994 

Our 1994 squad that brought the Dungarvan Tyre Centre Trophy back to Lismore with a 1-0 win over Brideview. Making it 7 wins in 8 cup final appearances.

2011-2012

Our senior side won the Ned Barry cup in back to back seasons, keeping the reputation of a strong cup side alive.

2018

Lismore AFC won the WWEC league title. Their first league title in 6 years.

2013-Present

For 13 years, Lismore AFC have held an Annual St.Stephens Day game where the Lismore AFC Legends face off against the current Junior team. This annual game is held to raise money for local charities and is a great event for the community. In recent times the winners have been presented with a Trophy named after the late local legend Joe Tobin.
